60 Second Style: Kellan Lutz

Like everybody who’s a part of the Twilight franchise (it’s not over yet! One more would be released at the end of this year), Kellan has been trying to shake off the aura of him being a vampire. Although his efforts have been mixed at best—Immortals did well in the theaters but critics weren’t so impressed. Regardless, you have to give the man credit for trying—hey, one of his films has him starring with Samuel L. Jackson, so that’s saying something.

Mr. Lutz is photographed here at the red carpet for his birthday. Can’t argue with rich colors this winter—and what he’s wearing clearly exemplifies that.

Brogues, Topman, $130

Suede’s a little tougher to take care of compared to leather. You usually need to buy a cleaner and a protectant, otherwise, any unexpected run-ins with ice (and its melting variety) can ruin the fabric.

Shirt, Banana Republic, $98.50

A black shirt rarely works in the office—it’s almost always meant to be worn on a date, funeral, or a night out.

Cardigan, Isaia, $630

Although Lutz’s wine-colored sweater is handsome, the same hue on a cardigan will carry over much easier once spring sets in, for one simple reason: buttons.

Tie, The Tie Bar, $15

Have a bevy of slim ties in constant rotation in your closet.

Jeans, H&M, $49.50

Unlike blue jeans, where it’s still okay to wear them once the color starts fading; with black jeans, after a while of constant fading, they have to be replaced.

Watch, Bulova, $225

A dash of gold can’t be more complementary to the black-and-purple theme his outfit has going.

60 Second Style: Matt Lanter

Matt Lanter attends the premiere of Breaking Dawn: Part 1.

Doesn’t this outfit feel a little too overly dressed down for a movie premiere? It’s as if he’s having coffee at a nearby Starbucks, and his publicist suddenly burst inside the café, demanding that he make himself ready to walk the red carpet.

Nothing wrong with what he’s wearing per se, but when the rest of the cast have dressed up (to varying degrees, but still I digress), what Mr. Lanter’s wearing makes him stand out—and not in a good way.

Sweater, $130, Fred Perry

Tie, $60, All Saints

Shirt, $125, Theory

I don’t like how the cuffs are folded, and I’m most certainly not a fan of the loosened tie. If you choose to go this route (and have to attend a red carpet premiere), fold the cuffs Italian-style, and fix your tie. Once the movie starts, by all means undo everything.
